Travel with Radiant Routes

Tucked away in the emerald embrace of Northeast India, Meghalaya, literally meaning "the abode of clouds", is a land where nature paints with mist and water. With dramatic cliffs, living root bridges, crystal-clear rivers, sacred forests, and the rhythmic beat of tribal drums, Meghalaya offers more than just scenic beauty — it offers a soulful escape.
Home to the Khasi, Garo, and Jaintia tribes, Meghalaya is rich in indigenous culture, folklore, and matrilineal traditions. From the colonial charm of Shillong, often called the ‘Scotland of the East’, to the surreal villages of Cherrapunji and Mawlynnong (Asia’s cleanest village), every path winds through nature’s untouched theatre.(Get 10% Off on your first Travel)

Day 1
Into the Heart of the Hills – Shillong Calling
Your journey begins as you land at Guwahati Airport, where our Radiant Routes trail guides are ready with warm smiles and a playlist full of indie travel beats. The hills call, and we answer.
We cruise towards Shillong, Meghalaya’s highland capital. En route, take your first deep breath by the glassy blue of Umiam Lake – your first glimpse of magic. Think forests, mist, and mirror-like reflections.
By noon, check into your cozy Khasi-style homestay. In the evening, wander through Police Bazaar, sip hot tea on a rainy sidewalk, and taste Meghalaya’s street food with your local trip leader who knows all the hidden bites.

Nohkalikai Falls – where a haunting legend meets jaw-dropping beauty
Mawsmai Cave – weave through natural tunnels of time
Wah Kaba Falls – a lesser-known cascade perfect for serene moments
Eco Park – where clouds brush your shoulders
Enjoy a local Khasi lunch at a family-run eatery perched on the cliffs.
