Dong Village, in Arunachal’s Anjaw district, is famous as India’s Land of the Rising Sun. From
experiencing the first sunrise in the country to visiting ancient villages on the Indo-China border,
this trip offers a blend of culture, history, and breathtaking landscapes.

Itinerary

Day 1: Dibrugarh → Parsuram Kund (218 km / 5 hrs approx.)
Arrive at Dibrugarh Airport/Station, where our representative will welcome you. Begin your road
journey with a stop at the iconic Dhola-Sadiya Bridge (Bhupen Hazarika Setu), India’s longest
bridge stretching over 9.15 km. After soaking in the views, continue towards Parsuram Kund, a
sacred pilgrimage site by the Lohit River.

Day 2: Parsuram Kund → Walong (180 km / 6 hrs approx.)
Post breakfast, drive along the beautiful Lohit River Valley. Pause at Hawa Camp for panoramic
views of the mighty river. The drive is adventurous with stretches of rough, muddy roads that lead
you to the remote town of Walong by late afternoon. Rest well, as the next day begins early.

Day 3: Trek to Dong Valley – Witness the First Sunrise of India
Wake up at 1:00 am for the highlight of your trip—a trek to Dong Valley. After a short drive, begin
your 8 km hike under the starry sky. Reach the viewpoint just before dawn and watch the first
sunrise in India—a truly magical experience. After sunrise, spend some time amidst the pristine
valley before returning to Walong. Later, explore the quaint Walong village in the evening.

Day 4: Excursion to Kaho – India’s First Village
Day 5: Walong → Namsai (255 km / 7 hrs approx.)
Day 6: Namsai → Dibrugarh (125 km / 2.5 hrs approx.)
Day 7: Departure from Dibrugarh
After breakfast, set out for Kaho, the first village of India, nestled right on the Indo-China border.
En route, visit Kibithu and cross the traditional hanging bridge over the Lohit River. Return to
Walong after this enriching day.

Today, begin your return journey towards Namsai, a town known for its Buddhist heritage. The
highlight here is the Golden Peace Pagoda, where you’ll see the world’s largest bamboo Buddhastatue—a marvel of craftsmanship and faith.

Rise early at 4:00 am to witness a beautiful Theravada Buddhist ritual, where monks follow the
age-old tradition of going out to seek alms. After this serene experience, continue your drive to
Dibrugarh. Spend the evening exploring the tea gardens and local markets of the Tea City of
India.

After breakfast, transfer to Dibrugarh Airport/Station for your onward journey. Carry back
